BEST MUSIC OF 2020

Great way to find new music @ albumoftheyear.org

ASSIGNMENT FOR 26/11
We are dealing with the history of popular music here most the time. But for now let’s look back on 2020 (which is almost history) and see if you boys and girls are really in tune to what is happening now in music. What is the best new music being made?
Write a TOP 10 of the best albums of 2020. And write a 250 word recommendation of your #1 record of the year.
Send it in glorious PDF to dpmlhaneveer@codarts.nl before the end of the day.
I’ll try to compile the CODARTS POP ACADEMY TOP 10 2020 from your top 10s.

1990s – chapter 3.3 : CROSSOVER

Crossover is a term applied to musical works or performers who appeal to different types of audience, for example (especially in the United States) by appearing on two or more of the record charts which track differing musical styles or genres.

Think of Country and Pop, which used to have very dictinct audiences in the 1990s. Or Christian Rock, big in the USA. From a more musician-like point of view, crossover stands for the blending of two or more different genres and/or styles. Funk Rock, Hiphop Jazz, Nu Metal etc.
